Course Requirements Overview
- Basic
Audio Project: Audio Podcast Using GarageBand (20%) consists of a
script and the development of a voiceover for a sequential lesson
plan/instructional unit.
- Basic
Video Project: Video Podcast Using iMovie (20%) consists of a script/storyboard, recorded and edited
video footage, talking head footage, still images, titles, transitions,
and designed to supplement instruction that you deliver or would deliver
in a face to face setting.
- Instructional
Video Project with Audio Using iMovie and GarageBand (20%) consists of
developing instructional media on the topic of an instructional strategy
of your own choosing. The finished media will be based on a storyboard/script,
include appropriately acquired original footage, editing conducted in
iMovie and GarageBand, and high production standards.
- Stop
Motion with Narration/Audio Using (10%) consists of developing a stop
motion sequence including a storyboard/script, narration/audio, and
appropriate visual communication (collaboratively as large group). The
stop motion project will be an overall large group class project
consisting of several sequences or sections and we will break up into
smaller groups to be responsible for each of the sections. Each small
group will present their sequence individually and discuss its strengths
and weakness, then we will also comment on the entire production in its
final assembled form.
- Presentation
(10%) consists of a formal presentation that provides an overview of your
best project from conceptualization, storyboarding, and media development.
The presentation is on either the Basic Video Project or the Instructional
Video project. The presentation must include a) background/context or
original idea, b) audience description, c) list of technologies used, d)
sharing of the full length video, e) reflections about ways to improve or
change if you were to continue or begin again.
- Technology
List (10%) consists of a completed list of available multimedia
technologies that you have access to in your school, workplace, or
personal life that could be used for the projects in this class. This list
can include CCSU materials if necessary. A template for this assignment
will be posted to the course website. Creation of the list is 5% and
presenting the list is 5%.
- Portfolio
Review (10%) consists of a 1:1 meeting held during class time in
finals week to review the audio and video files created during the course
for feedback and discussion of technical, artistic, and instructional
merit.
